Carlos Ochoa is a passionate paddle boarder, mountain biker, motorcyclist, engineer, investor, and serial entrepreneur who believes in the power of ripple effects. Born and raised in Mexico City, Carlos grew up in a lower-middle-class family and felt like an outsider for most of his life. Despite facing challenges in his academic and professional career, he persevered and became a successful entrepreneur. Carlos dropped out of college and started a failed company but did not give up. He went on to build Sm4rt Security Services and helped scale the company until Kio Networks acquired it. Carlos then moved to San Francisco, where he invested in several startups and started his syndicate, eventually leading to Alpha Impact 8.

He is now a diversity advocate who has faced the reality of being different in Silicon Valley. Despite the challenges, he is determined to continue creating equity and making a difference in the tech industry. After residing in Mexico, Spain, Vancouver, and San Francisco, Carlos now resides with his wife and son in Kirkland, Washington. Carlos has a passion for paddleboarding, riding electric, learning through reading, writing as a form of meditation, and supporting entrepreneurs as a way of life.
